The 17th-century wooden church stands on the shore of Lake Michalickie. Its architectural style is predominantly Polish, which distinguishes it from other wooden churches in the area which have distinct Prussian elements. The well-preserved church in Michalice is a stop on the Wooden Architecture Trail. It was built in a Baroque style on granite foundations. We know that the chief builder of the church was a carpenter named Miller who lived in Altstadt (which is now a district of Namysłów). The 13th-century Gothic door frame confirms that an older church existed there previously; this is further corroborated by the mentions of a church from 1288. The current church was built thanks to the efforts of a priest named Jerzy Brzóska, who came up with the idea of building the church in 1592. The construction works were completed in 1614. The steeple, which also survives to this day, was added nearly 100 years later, in 1730.
