The central element of the wooden 17th-century church in Michalice is the richly ornamented, two-storey main altar dated to 1688, i.e. 70 years after the construction of the church had been completed. The altar was funded by the then-priest of the parish, Andrzej Jan Janik. The centrepiece of the altar is a semi-circular frame with a painting of Madonna with Child, surrounded by angels and also dated to 1688. The painting is flanked by statues of St John the Baptist and St Joseph standing at the columns. The second storey is visibly separated by a large cornice with an ornate cartouche. In the middle of the top of the altar, there is a sculpture of St Michael fighting a dragon.
